Thurrock Spectrum Brass will be supporting the Service of Remembrance held at the War Memorial of Chafford Hundred, marking the place where a plan crash-landed during the war.
"This close is named in memory of 2nd Lt. Samuel E. Kershaw who served with the 55th fighter group of the 8th U.S. Army Airforce and whose plane crashed on this site during World War Two. Born 6th February, 1922, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., died 21st February, 1945, North Stifford, Essex. Remembered." (plaque inscription at the site)
